西田　航
WATARU NISHIDA

1978年生まれ。鹿児島県出身。東京を拠点に活動する写真家。

1990年代後半、大学在学中より商業撮影を始め、広告やポートレートを中心に撮影に携わる。2010年代後半から自身の作品制作へと軸足を移し、写真集の刊行や展覧会での発表を重ねている。

自らのメディアを通じた発信も行う。撮影から編集、出版、展示、発信、そして作品が人の手に渡るまでを、一続きの写真活動として捉えている。

Wataru Nishida (b. 1978) is a Tokyo-based photographer raised in Kagoshima, Japan.

He began his career in commercial photography in the late 1990s while at university, working primarily in advertising and portraiture. In the late 2010s, he shifted his focus to personal projects, which he presents through photobooks and exhibitions.

Nishida also shares his work through his own media channels. He approaches photography as a continuous practice, from making and editing images to publishing, exhibiting and bringing the work into people’s hands.
